In Library of Heaven's Path novel, there are 9 dans (or layers) of cultivation for martial artists in the Fighter (武者, wuzhe), Transcendent Mortal (化凡, huafan), and Saint (圣者, shengzhe) Great Realms (Cultivation ranks). The 9-dan Supreme (至尊, zhizun) is the pinnacle of a mortal's cultivation in the Fighter realm. In more advanced realms the number of dans varies, although it is usually four. Additionally, some Great Realms have additional transitional dans which can be optionally attained.

There are a total of 7 Great Realms of cultivation known, ranging from Fighter (武者, wuzhe) as the weakest, through to God (神, shen) as the strongest.

With the exception of the Great Sage (大圣, dasheng) Realm, all realms can be divided into 4 small dans: Primary dan (初期), Intermediate dan (中期), Advanced dan (后期) and Pinnacle (巅峰).

True Essence Cultivation

Grades

True Essence (真气, zhenqi) can be divided in 3 grades, from strongest to weakest:

• Superior
• Intermediate
• Inferior

Higher the quality of one's true essence, more clear it would be and further one would be able to climb in the future. The grade of one's true essence reflects the quality of one's cultivation technique. It is said that in order to cultivate superior true essence, it is required a god or saint cultivation technique. For that reason, superior essence qi is exceedingly rare.

Superior grade true essence has many wonderful uses such as healing capabilities and protecting the user from poison.

Heaven's Path True Essence is a superior grade true essence cultivated from the Heaven's Path Cultivation Technique created by Zhang Xuan.

Battle Technique, there is the concept of mastery as well (i.e. how adept you are at using the technique). The higher the rank of the battle technique, the harder it is to gain mastery in it. Mastery is divided into :

• Novice
• Initiate
• Minor Accomplishment
• Major Accomplishment
• Consummation.

Great Realms

There are 7 Great Realms of cultivation known. Every dan of a Great Realm is divided in dans, usually 4 (primary, intermediate, advanced and pinnacle) or 6 (which includes the perfection and consummation dans). The dans of the God realm are divided into different dans depending on the dan.

One month in the Abandoned Continent is 1 year in the Master Teacher Continent.

Transcendent Mortal / Saint Stage (化凡, huafan) realm is the realm above Fighter. Before becoming a Transcendent Mortal, experts have a normal human lifespan, even a Supreme peak would find it hard to reach 100 years old. Once they break through to Transcendent Mortal, they would have their lifespan increased by a lot. A characteristic of this realm is the ability to draw support from the surrounding environment and transfer all origin energy for oneself to use, increasing one's battle strength by several fold. Supreme realm is the peak of mortal cultivation, and as far as the mortal body can reach, therefore, the Transcendent Mortal realm consists in breaking the shackles of mortality to reach a higher level. For this reason, this realm is also known as Transcending Mortality (超凡, chaofan) realm or Shedding Mortality (脱凡, tuofan) realm.

Saint (圣者, shengzhe) realm is the realm above Transcendent Mortal. In order to truly fly one must be a Saint or at least a Half-Saint. After becoming a Saint, one's lifespan is extended to 1,000 years (for most Saints). Those who had lived beyond a thousand could be considered an old ancestor of a clan, who broke the shackles of Saint realm and reached a higher realm.
1-dan	Void Pursuit (逐空, Zhukong)	Opens the Zhukong acupoint, becomes capable of true flight.
2-dan	Spiritual Perception (神识, Shenshi)	Opens the Incipient Eye, and thus, awakening the Spiritual Perception.	7-star
3-dan	Embryonic Soul (胎婴, Taiying)	Condenses a Embryonic Soul from the Origin Core.
4-dan	Primordial Spirit (元神, Yuanshen)	The Embryonic Soul matures into a Primordial Spirit.
5-dan	Leaving Aperture (出窍, Chuqiao)	The Saint must overcome 4 Heavenly Ordeals. After reaching this realm, the Primordial Spirit can leave the body at will.	Half 8-star

7-dan	Phantasmal Space (入虚, Ruxu)	The dominion becomes a mixture of real and unreal. This is the when the Saint touches the mystery of space. To reach this level, a Saint must overcome the Phantasmal Space Ordeal.
8-dan	Dimension Sundering (洞虚, Dongxu)	The dominion becomes an heavenly abode, mastering some of the mysteries of space. To reach this level the Saint must overcome the Dimension Sundering Ordeal.
9-dan	Macrocosm Ascendancy (宇空, Yukong)	The control of space reaches the peak. To reach this level the Saint must overcome the Macrocosm Ascendancy Ordeal, which has the might of over ten Dimension Sundering Ordeals.	Half 9-star
Great Sage (大圣, dasheng) realm is the realm above Saint. Unlike the Saint realm, the Great Sage realm is divided into only 4 dans. One must be at least a Great Sage 1-dan in order to their occupation rank be promoted to 9-star. The lifespan of a Great Sage is 1,500 years. Using their Fighter Realm, Transcendent Mortal Realm, and Saint Realm foundation as a basis, one must find their own path towards Great Sage Realm. In order words, the cultivation techniques at this level must be created by the cultivator themself. Cultivation techniques created by others can only be used as reference. Also, each dan is divided into 6 dans, unlike the Saint realm where each dan was divided into 4 dans. Those dans are: Primary dan (初期), Intermediate dan (中期), Advanced dan (后期), Pinnacle (巅峰), Perfection (圆满), and Consummation (大圆满).
1-dan	Introspective Convalescence (见神不坏)	After reaching this realm, body and soul reach the limit, the lifespan is increased for 1500 years.	9-star
2-dan	Aureate Body (金身)	In this realm, body and primordial spirit become formidable, physical and mental defense are raised to a new level. Ordinary injures can be healed instantaneously.
3-dan	Intuitive Impulse (心血来潮)	In this realm, fortune and misfortune can be directly induced.
4-dan	Sempiternal (不朽)	In this final realm, the primordial spirit becomes immortal, one can tear the space.
Ancient Sage (古圣, gusheng) is the realm above Great Sage. Only ancient mighty figures like Qiu Wu, Bu Shang, and the other 72 Sages, were able to achieve this realm. The lifespan of an Ancient Sage is 2,000 years. Some time after Kong-shi left, «Aeon of Ancient Sages» mysteriously vanished from the world. No one was able to breakthrough to Ancient Sage since then. Many of the remaining Ancient Sage of the human race went into hibernation to extend their lifespans and only wake up when in need. The conditions for the breakthrough to Ancient Sage is as follows: One's cultivation base must be at Great Sage 4-dan Consummation. This is the most basic requirement and many powerful experts were able to fulfill it since ancient times. One must accumulate «Aeon of Ancient Sages». This step is essential and is the main reason why there are no new Ancient Sages in current times, since the Aeon of Ancient Sages vanished from the Master Teacher Continent's world during ancient times. One's soul depth must reach the minimum of 30. This means that only Master Teachers and other occupations that arduously train their Will of Mind have a chance to breakthrough to Ancient Sage Realm. One's soul span must reach one million kilometers. One's understanding of any aspect of the dao must surpass Heaven's Path. Like the Great Sage realm, the Ancient Sage realm is divided into 4 dans. Also, like the Great Sage realm, each dan is divided into 6 dans: Primary dan, Intermediate dan, Advanced dan, Pinnacle, Perfection/Completion and Consummation. Kong shi and Vicious are the only known cultivators from Master Teacher Continent to reach Dimension Shatterer realm. Only the primary dan of Ancient Sage 4-dan Dimension Shatterer Realm can be reached in a lower plane. Being an Ancient Sage in Azure can be considered a small accomplishment in cultivation while being a Saint is considered quite weak. The lifespan of Ancient Sages living in the Azure is 200 years.
1-dan	Bloodline Continuance (血脉延续)	In this realm, the bloodline strength can be inherited by descendants.
2-dan	Great Philosopher (诸子百家)	In ancient times, from the 72 Sages, 62 of them reached this realm.
3-dan	Blood Reincarnation (滴血重生)	In this realm, as long as the lifespan isn’t exhausted, one can achieve rebirth even if the head is cut off.
4-dan	Dimension Shatterer (破碎虚空) Immortal Envoy (仙使)	In this final realm, one can shatter the void and ascend. It is also called Immortal Envoy Realm.
The realm above Ancient Sage. It can only be achieved in a higher plane, such as Azure. In Azure, Immortals are the elders of major factions and are only below the rarely seen Semi Divinity powerhouses. The lifespan of Immortals living in the Azure is 300 years. The Semi Divinity realm can be considered a transitional realm between the Immortal realm and God realm, akin to the Half-Saint realm and Nascent Saint realm. After achieving this level, one's lifespan is increased to 500 years. Although immensely powerful by the Azure's standards, a Semi Divinity cannot survive the trip to the Firmament by themself, and even if they did they would be threatened even by the weakest ant or wild life there. Like the saint realm and the realms prior to it, in this realm, each dan is divided into 4 dans: Lesser dan, Greater dan, Earthly dan and Heavenly.
1-dan	Pseudo Immortal (虚仙, Xuxian)	Pseudo Immortals are invulnerable to flames, and their souls are as pure as true gold. With their thoughts, they are able to make things happen.
2-dan	True Immortal (真仙, Zhenxian)	True Immortals are considered as real experts on the Azure
3-dan	High Immortal (仙君, Xianjun)	Those who manage to take a step further from there and transcend to greater heights are known as High Immortals. They are also termed as the King of Immortals
-	Semi Divinity (伪神, Weishen)	This realm is the most peak in the entire Azure. Every hundred years, Heaven Anchoring Boulder will be opened and the candidate from Azure that pass through this bridge can enter Hall of Gods. They will be given an opportunity to absorb the «Aura of Semi-Divinity» and breakthrough to this realm. Practicing «God's Character» obtained from Hall of Gods can also help induced a breakthrough. Aside from that, «God's Blood» also can help any Heavenly High Immortal cultivator to achieve this realm. Ordinary Semi Divinities have a lifespan of 500 years in the Azure, but in the Firmament they have a lifespan of 60 years.
This is the realm above Immortal realm. After reaching the first dan, the God realm, one can ascend to the Firmament. There, even the weakest ant is a God realm lifeform.
1-dan	God (神灵, Shenling)	Divided into low, middle and high grade God. Normal Gods had a lifespan of 150 years in the Firmament, but now they have a lifespan of 80 years.
2-dan	Celestial God (天神, Tianshen)	Divided into low, middle and high grade Celestial God. Celestial Gods have a lifespan of 1,000 years in the Firmament.
3-dan	God King (神王, Shenwang)	Divided into ordinary God King and Conferred God King. Ordinary God King only have a lifespan of 10,000 years while Conferred God Kings have a lifespan of 100,000 years in the Firmament. Only God Kings and above can fly in Firmament. 4-dan 5 dan	God Monarch (帝君, Dijun) Beyond God monarch	Firmament is divided into nine heaven factions. Currently, there are ten God Monarchs in Firmament.
